What is Included in my trip package?
All our trips include ground transportation, accommodation, guides, and activities/admissions listed in the itinerary (unless marked as optional excursions). We also provide breakfast and either lunch or dinner daily. Check the specific trip page for detailed information. Tips for Kito Afrika staff are not included but are not required.
Do I need a visa to visit all the African countries?
No, you do not need a visa for entry into all African countries but it is a requirement for 90% of the countries on the continent.
What is the maximum number of individuals on a trip?
The maximum number of individuals in a trip is 19.
What is the minimum number of individuals on a trip?
The minimum number of individuals on a trip is 7.

The safety of our participants is our #1 concern, which is why we have only experienced trip leaders running the show. We offer 24/7 communication throughout the trip.
What vaccinations are required?
The most common vaccination required on entry into African countries is Yellow Fever vaccination. It is a good idea to ensure you are up to date with all the common childhood vaccinations before visiting an African country. This includes immunizations for Tetanus and Diphtheria and Diphtheria, Whooping cough (Pertussis), polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).
How do I apply for a visa?
After booking your trip, our team will contact you with specific visa requirements for your destination. We’ll guide you through your options, and note that some African countries offer visas on arrival.
How does the installment payment method work?
Kito Afrika accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and other major credit cards. A 4% processing fee applies to all credit card payments, except for the initial deposit and registration fee. After your deposit, our team will contact you with payment options to complete the balance.
What are optional add-ons?
Optional add-ons come at an extra cost and include activities like scuba diving, paragliding, or extended day trips. These excursions cater to thrill-seekers, but alternative fun activities are always available for those who choose not to participate.
Do you have discounts?
We offer special discounts year-round, with Early Bird Discounts being the best. Refer a first-time traveler to Kito Afrika and get a 5% discount on their selected trip price.
Do you have solo travelers?
Absolutely! 69% of our travelers come solo, eager to meet new people. With so many solo travelers, everyone is in the same boat, ready to form lasting friendships.
How do you get around on your trips?
Transportation varies by trip, so check the specific program page for details. We use the best option to enhance your experience, from private coach buses to trains. In some cases, we may use public transit if it's safe and adds to the adventure!
Where do you stay on your trips?
We primarily stay in clean, safe, and comfortable hostels with 24-hour security. Location is key for our accommodations, ensuring convenience throughout your trip!

What is your refund cancellation policy?
Cancellations, shortened stays, or reduced group sizes (collectively referred to as CANCELLATION) are subject to cancellation and no-show fees if made after booking and up until the arrival date. Please note that 20% of the total trip cost is non-refundable.
