One for the bucket list. Travel to Africa and see the famous Egyptian pyramids of Giza, considered a wonder of ancient Egypt, marvel at the mesmerizing great sphinx, go on a cruise in the River, get to taste Egyptian cuisines learn more about the history and culture of Egyptians and visit the must-see Luxor city.
Some Interesting Facts about The Great Egyptian Pyramids Of Giza:
Pharaoh Khufu constructed the first and biggest Giza pyramid in 2550 BCE. The Great Pyramid is there. His son, Pharaoh Khafre, constructed the second, smaller pyramid, and Khafre’s son, Pharaoh Menkaure, constructed the third, still lesser pyramid.
The shrinking economy was the cause of the pyramid heights, not there based on their status. Fewer resources were allocated for the pyramids as the government constructed larger and more opulent structures. In actuality, Pharaoh Shepseskaf, the son of Menkaure, could not construct a pyramid for himself.
Although researchers and scientists have never been able to identify how the pyramids were constructed, they now know that the workmen who constructed them were competent Egyptians who lived in a neighboring settlement.
The Great Sphinx Is also a Great Place To Visit on your African Trip, and you’ll be surprised to know these things about the renowned Meticulate structures:
The Sphinx is an image of a creature with an animal-like body and an Egyptian king-like head that stands atop the Giza Plateau and faces Sinai to the east.
There were reports that the statue’s large, 1-meter-wide snout was destroyed by the artillery of Napoleon’s forces and other rumors that the British or Mamluks were responsible.
There are tunnels inside the hull and around. One of the most significant ones is near the middle of the statue’s back, practically in the center, on the opening to the upper basement, which has a “metal door” that may be unlocked.
